About Us

The .1.4.U.2.Call was originally established in 1993 and was bought by Martin and Kathryn Lewis in November 2002. Martin and his family moved from Herefordshire to buy the company after the previous owner had announced his retirement and whom himself had been trained by Martin's father in law Bob Russell. Martin says that "It was the best decision of our lives as Suffolk is a wonderful place to live and we have never looked back. Its just such a friendly place".

Martin's wife Kathryn Lewis runs the office and books in the work and has herself had many years experience in the chimney sweeping industry as she has been booking calls since the age of thirteen for her Father who has been a chimney sweep for over 20 years.

 The .1.4.U.2.Call run an efficient modern office and database, and in most cases a customer can book their chimney to be swept in under 60 seconds, and all that is required for returning customers is to choose the date that best suits them.

• Since Martin took over the company he has increased business turnover by over 70%
• In 2002 Martin Attended the HETAS solid fuel awareness course and passed with distinction.
• In 2004 Martin became a CORGI Registered Gas engineer, and although no longer registered the experience has given him valuable expertise when advising on gas, oil and solid fuel heating systems.
• In 2006 he became the company secretary for the Guild of Master Sweeps
• In 2007 was voted in as Technical Director of the Guild.
• Also in 2007 Martin along with other members of the Guild were invited over to visit a German chimney sweeping school and attended a seminar in further education in chimney technology.
• In 2008 Martin was helping to train new chimney sweeps for the Guild
• To date Martin is Suffolk’s only qualified chimney sweep.
• In 2010 Martin along with a new business partner started Suffolk Chimney Liners so that installations of liners and stoves can be added to the services that can be covered.
